5th Baku International Humanitarian Forum started
The 5th Baku International Humanitarian Forum kicked off at the Heydar Aliyev Center, Baku on Sep.29.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyevis attending the official opening ceremony of the forum.
President Ilham Aliyev will deliver a speech, the address of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the UN leadership to the forum participants will be read out. Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Ms. Olga Golodets, ISESCO Director General Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri,UNESCO Deputy Director General Getachew Engida will also deliver speeches.
Plenary session of the forum will be held today. Political and religious figures, as well as Nobel Prize winners, chairmen of round tables will deliver speeches at the session. Round tables on the following directions: “Different models of multiculturalism: from theory to humanitarian practice”, “the Importance of preserving human capital in terms of mass movement of people as a basis for sustainable development”, “Transformation of journalism in the information age and its role in ensuring inter-civilizational dialogue, Sustainable development and ecological civilization”, “Molecular biology, Biophysics, biotechnology and training issues in modern medicine: innovative and ethical issues”, “the Convergence of technologies and predictions of the future: main challenges of the 21st century will be held on September 30.
The Baku international humanitarian forum is an annual event of outstanding representatives of political, scientific and cultural elite of the world community including famous statesmen, Nobel prize winners in various branches of science and heads of influential international organizations whose aim is holding dialogues, discussions and debates on a wide range of global issues of interest to all mankind.
The forum in 2010 was initiated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and former Russian President, current Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
